How many people does the boat fit?
Each gondola seats up to four people and you will have exclusive use during your cruise booking.

What should I wear on the boat?
You can dress as glamorous or as casual as you like! We usually recommend that people dress to be comfortable for the weather conditions at the time of your cruise. In Melbourne’s fickle weather that could be anything from short sleeves to a warm coat. Knee rugs are provided if you need a bit of extra warmth on a chilly night.

What if the weather is bad?
The protective canopy of the gondola allows us to still provide a cruise if there is a light shower, however in the event of strong winds or heavy rain we may need to reschedule cruises and will contact you earlier on the day of your booking to discuss this.

How far in advance do I need to book?
The gondola cruises operate throughout the year, by appointment, 7 days a week. During the summer months, and particularly on weekends, we are often fully booked so to avoid disappointment we suggest you book at least 2 weeks in advance. A minimum of 8 hours notice is needed for all bookings.

Can I bring my own food and alcohol on the boat?
Our food and alcohol licences do not permit BYO food or alcohol. Finger food, dessert platters and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available through our caterers and can be ordered through our booking office on 9399 1991. Prices on application.

Can children go on the cruise?
Children over the age of 13 are welcome on the boat cruises if accompanied by an adult.

What is it like in the boat?
The gondolas are opulently appointed with upholstered velvet seats, plush cushions, warm rugs and a fold over canopy to keep customers warm and dry if the weather is cool. A cosy romantic ambience is created with soft music and gentle lighting.

Can I bring my own music to play?
If you have a favourite CD you would like to listen to during your cruise bring it along and ask the gondolier to play it for you.

How do we pay for the cruise?
Cruise payments, including deposits, can be made either by credit card over the phone (VISA, BANKCARD or MASTERCARD) or by cheque or money order mailed to Venice on the Yarra Pty Ltd, PO Box 1070, Fitzroy North, 3068.
